Stevens Equipment Rental has recently purchased a Caterpillar 980H for handling rock on a long-term contract in a country with a much warmer climate than we see here in Cumbria.
The machine’s standard specification has been greatly enhanced with the addition of a twin agent fire suppression system from Ardent UK, an automatic greasing system (Autolube) from Groeneveld, Caterpillar Rock Spec Bucket (also modified by Miller Groundbreaking), upgrade of L3 Tyres to L5 Michelin XLDD2A’s, and finally the exchange of heating and cooling parts to make the machine fit for purpose in the warmer climate.
